1. What are your qualifications?
Gary, Aaron and Derek have spent the last several years focusing on advising a select group of individuals. Our advisors hold a series 65 license, registered investment adviser representative. They also are licensed agents with the State of Texas department of insurance. They are very comfortable making financial recommendations, because they truly believe they understand people and their specific needs.
2. What experience do you have?
Gary has 30 years of financial experience, including owning and operating a Registered Investment Advisory firm for the last 13 years. Aaron has been in financial services for the past 7 years. Oak River’s offices have been located in Beaumont, The Woodlands and now Humble Texas.
3. How do you conduct business?
We operate a Registered Investment Advisory firm and specialize in providing investment advice to limited and a select group of individuals. Our practice is staunchly independent, we recommend what is best for each client.
4. What do you recommend?
Depending on the person’s situation, we recommend no-load mutual funds, dividend-paying blue-chip stocks, bonds, CDs, preferred stocks, and certain types of annuities from very well-rated insurance companies.
5. How do you get paid?
We get paid in either of three ways:
As investment adviser representatives of Oak River Financial Group, Inc. an SEC registered firm, we manage investment accounts of a fee basis instead of receiving a commission for placing security transactions.
If we recommend an annuity or similar financial product to a client, the insurance company will compensate us for providing information and advice on the product, comparing the product to other available options, and for providing ongoing service.
We can receive a fee for planning and creating an individual client web site so they may track their complete financial lives.
6. Describe your typical client.
Most of our clients are between age 50 and 75. We do have a few youngsters in their 40s, but our focus is helping those who are who are looking for complete financial guidance.
7. What is your approach to financial planning?
Our approach to financial planning is to understand the needs of our clients, and then to determine whether or not their current investments are meeting those needs. If they are, then we tell them so. If they are not, we prepare written recommendations that show the changes that need to be made, and how the proposed plan can help them for many years to come.
8. Who will be my adviser?
Gary Freeman, Aaron Freeman and Derek Randel give general investment advice to Oak River clients. It is the sole responsibility of Gary Freeman for the daily supervision and management of client securities portfolios.
9. Have you ever been professionally disciplined?
Our compliance files are open for inspection at your request.
10. Can I have it in writing?
All recommendations are made in writing. Brochures are provided for any investments or product recommendations.
